NRG win cs

NRG defeated OpTic in the grand final of cs_summit 3 with a 3-1 score (default 1-0, Nuke 14-16, Overpass 16-8, Mirage 16-6) and claimed the $63,750 first place prize.

The grand final started off on Nuke, with Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov finding all five headshots with the USP-S in the pistol to get NRG their first round. However, Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer and René "cajunb" Borg did work on a force buy to strike back quickly and OpTic took a 3-1 lead. NRG stabilized when the rifles came in and bounced back into the lead, 4-3.

After the Danes unlocked the defence through Ramp, things were starting to go their way again, and they took back the lead, 7-5. That is when NRG managed to steal away two almost unwinnable rounds: first Ethan "Ethan" Arnold and Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte turned around a 2v5 and then Jacob "FugLy" Medina clutched out a 1v3, allowing the North Americans to end the half with just a single round deficit, 8-7.

OpTic won the pistol and extended their lead with a 3-0 conversion, but the anti-ecos got pretty costly for the Danes, which forced them to eco after losing just one round. They still stole away the following round with just pistols thanks to cajunb and made the score 13-8. NRG contested the game and CeRq's 1v4 clutch almost allowed them to win the map, but OpTic closed it out in the end, with a mixed buy, taking Nuke 16-14.

NRG claimed the victory at cs_summit 3 after winning three BO3s and the BO5 grand final

On Overpass, OpTic took the early lead, 5-0, with NRG needing hero plays from Brehze to get their first rounds on the board. Damian "daps" Steele's side still struggled to unlock the CT's holds on either site, but as the score was 7-3 for OpTic, the Danes fumbled an anti-eco and allowed NRG back into the match, finishing the T-half 8-7 down.

After the switch, it was all NRG as they held B in the pistol and snowballed into a 14-8 lead without even giving away a bombplant. In the following round, CeRq found an entry pick in bathrooms and then added two more on the A site defence, helping his team win Overpass 16-8 after a perfect CT side.

The start of Mirage featured yet another force-buy being won by OpTic, who reached a 3-1 lead early on. NRG then stepped up on the defensive side of the map, lead by Brehze who reached the 20-kill mark by round 13. (7-5)

NRG were flawless on the CT side from there on, finishing out the half 10-5 and setting themselves up to close out the grand final on Mirage. OpTic were unable to hold off NRG's A site push on the pistol, and found themselves playing catchup. The Danes afforded their first buy as it was 13-5 and Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen was crucial in his team's first CT round won, but OpTic crumbled in the followup, losing to an A execute. As OpTic had no money in the bank for the last couple of rounds, NRG had no issues closing it all out, 16-6, and taking the 3-1 victory in the grand final.
